I've been thinking about it for awhile and finally bought Twilight yesterday. Stayed up late last night reading and finished it this morning. I went back to the shops this morning right after I finished it to by the 2nd book but can't get it anywhere . I got the 3rd and 4th ones but obviously can't read them till I get the 2nd one. Now I've got to go book hunting :gah:.

Loved it BTW :happydance:

Yay! I'm so glad you gave in and bought it. LOL

I can't believe you read the whole book in one night.

I have been reading it for 2 1/2 weeks and I still have 200 pages to go. LOL

I hope you can find the 2nd book.

My in-laws brought it to me when they came to visit in late August, but I haven't started it yet. If I have spare time, I keep scrapping instead of reading! ;)

I got it for my DD and she loved it. But I haven't let my DD read the 3rd one. I read that it is a little more adult (she's 14). Is that true? I haven't read it yet. I probably should, but I like to scrap in my free time too :).

Where ya goin' Kirsty?

Where ya goin' Kirsty?

Home to Maine for a while. Part of the deal with the crummy news we got was that we would go home for a while before any changes happen. So we get to enjoy some crisp autumn air and beautiful colors (hopefully) and leave behind the heat of Vegas for a while!! :)

At least there's a glimmer of a bright side .

I'm in the middle of re-reading the third book. I have not enjoyed a series this much in a while!

the store got stock in yesterday so I grabbed New Moon and read it during the day. Then started Eclipse and stayed up till 11.30pm last night to finish it. Hoping to start Breaking Dawn today. I'm really enjoying it.

I've read all 4 books, hope to read the first one again before the movie.

We're having a GIRL'S NIGHT OUT when the movie comes out... planning on about 10 of us going to a midnight showing. We're all INSANE about the books! YAY!!!
Have fun reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::yipee::

I'm a speed reader too, drives my hubby nuts. But that is why I started re-reading them again. I wanted it fresh in my head before the movie comes out. I will have to find someone to see it with. I can hear the hubby groaning already.

I'm letting my 13 yo son read the 1st one and plan to take him to see it. Might have to do a midnight showing -- he'll love that. We were watching some of the trailers tonight and he definitely wants to see it now. I am almost done with New Moon.

Kirstie -- my hubby is a speed reader too.

Never heard of this series of books. I don't know if it's available in the Netherlands (with a different title). But I don't read a lot lately. When I'm not working I MUST scrap scrap and scrap.

Okay, I'm a big dork and have read them all at least twice (and the draft of Midnight Sun online twice). I would say the 3rd book is okay for a 14 year old. The only questionable thing is where Edward & Bella are kissing alone and Bella unbuttons a button on her shirt and Edward stops her. There is more making out in the third book but nothing that gets out of control from what I recall. That book actually provides a nice conversation starter about sex before marriage in my opinion. Good way to insert your life views into a casual conversation!

The fourth book is a bit more racy. Yes, they're MARRIED but I think that big step could be lost on younger teens who are so used to the idea of sex before marriage. But yeah, sex is tastefully and gently discussed in the fourth book. (IMO it's tasteful. I would think a 16 year old would be okay with reading it. As a parent I would point out to my children that the honeymoon was a very special time because Bella and Edward waited.)

BTW, for anyone who is thinking about reading them, I NEVER read fiction. NOT EVER. I read parenting books & psychology books (my degree field). My best friend shoved her copy of Twilight in my hand and insisted I read it. I had insomnia one night after a 2 am feeding when Aiden was 3 months old and decided to read the book until I fell asleep. I finished the book at 10 am and went and got the second copy from her at 11 am. I was done with that book by 8 pm and went immediately to get the third copy from her, too. I finished that book the next day and pre-ordered the 4th. Yes, they really are that good!

Thank you Tay. She will be thrilled when I tell her she can read the third one. We'll see about the fourth. I'll probably read it eventually, but unfortunately nothing else gets done when I start a book. I've read all the Harry Potters, but that's about all I can do in 5 years. lol2.

I actually appreciate the fact that Stephenie wrote such a great novel and kept the idea of abstinence throughout her series. You don't find that too often, espeically in the young adult section.

I finished the 4th last night. I'd say there's nothing wrong with a 14yr old reading all the books. Nothing too explicit and less than what's on TV and the movies these days.

Tay, can you link me up with the online draft of Midnight Sun please?

very true, nice to see the focus on the characters rather than the sex!

I heart Stephenie! She lives here in Phoenix and I got to meet her! It was way cool! I've got a signed copy of Twilight!! Sweet huh? I'm so sad about Midnight Sun, such a bummer. I hope that she'll finish it anyway because I'm sure it'd sell like wildfire! I can not wait for the movie to come out either! We're going to a midnight showing of it in my moms group, super excited!
