Pimp My Page Challenge #2 - October

It's October (already??!$#?) and time for our second 'Pimp My Page' Challenge. This month, the scrapping super star and Mint Chick extraordinaire Aggie Aviso will be your challenge hostess with the mostess. She's designed this awesome template for you lucky ducks and now she's challenging you to 'Pimp her Page' (scream it out like Ty Pennington would say 'Move That Bus!!')... in Peppermint style - of course.

HOW IT WORKS:
Download the template (http://www.4shared.com/file/65185300/b19725a/PC_PMPChallenge_2.html). Pimp-ify it (using pre-mostly PC products). Post your final product in the Main Gallery by Oct. 30th and also post a link to your page in this thread. One winner will be chosen and announced on Oct 31st.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, please move if necessary. Are clipping masks being used to create these layouts? I downloaded the file but it's not a .png with places for me to drag the papers under. I notice I can "clip" to the shapes though.

I hope I'm making sense - I'm new and want to play too! :happydance:

Do you have PSE? Check the text files that come with the template. They explain a little better than I would be able to how to use the templates. CTRL+G will become one of your new best friends! :)

Don't feel dumb, we've all been there and are totally willing to help you out! I know I've still got sooooo much still to learn, but that's part of what keeps it exciting!

Hooray! After 4 attempts with 4 different pictures, I finally came up with something I like and I just deleted all of my other attempts.

What's really funny is that I wasn't even planning on using the template when I started my page, but after I had my background paper, mat and picture down, I suddenly saw the template grow around it. Thanks Aggie!

* OCTOBER PMP CHALLENGE WINNER*

Last month the team and I were debating how best to choose a winner for the PMP Challenges. We figured that while choosing a winner at random is the most fair, some argued it was not the most fun since it doesn't really matter how good your page is and therefore doesn't push you to create something great. On the other hand, completely random selections give EVERYONE an equal chance to win. We were pretty much split down the middle so I've decided to go with a combination of both.

I'm going to pick my top 10 from all the entries each month and from those 10, a random winner will be selected. Top 10 does not necessarily mean the most 'pretty' (but it could be)...it may be the most creative, inventive, different, funny, interesting etc. So this way everyone still has an equal chance, but creativity is still rewarded.

I'm happy to hear your feedback on this idea!

I really like random drawings. I especially like them after watching a study in Psych class. It was a group of 12 year old girls and they split it in two. They then invited them to a girls craft night on two seperate nights. They offered a prize on one night for the best and the other randomly. They found that the random pick night produced more creative crafts versus the best one night who produced crafts that were similar and not as creative. Ever since then I am more appealed to the random pick type deal. I know were not 12 but I liked the study. Ok I will stop being geeky now!
