(okay so maybe we weren't, but I want to...:bounce:)

People always say they want more hybrid ideas, or want to do hybrid but don't know how to get started. What type of hybrid projects do you want to see or want to do? What would get you started?

Do you like to do board books with pre-made pages? Do you like to use templates and design your own books? Do you like kits where you order the digital and the physical together to make a project? Do you like cards? Do you like out-of-the-box type projects? Do you like easy-peasy or more do-it yourself?

These are just some suggestions. If you have some others please feel free to add them. I'm all ears...(okay I don't have an ears smilie!)

Hey E.Claire! we really are on the same wavelength, aren't we... :) I was just thinking about posting a poll or something to see what kind of hybrids people are interested in... or what they're intimidated by but would like to figure out... :)

I LOVE the big chunky clothespins to use for note holders or picture "frames", anyone know where to find those?!?!?

in Meeeeegan's blog she said that she got hers at the dollar store. The first place I ever saw them was at Kohl's though, but that might cost a little more.

I have this great wooden box that I want to hybrid...I'm just waiting for my printer! (and maybe a little time...)

I've been wanting to hybrid for awhile, and am slowly collecting the items I need.

Yeah, they are fun! And yes, I found mine at the Dollar Tree. They were painted pink and had a little blue butterfly on them, but I pried it off and painted over them. ;)

You still don't have your printer?!?!?!? Wasn't it ordered like forever ago?

Some of the simplest hybrid projects for me are cards. I will find a sketch or template to use, clip all the papers if using template, then rerrange them to print out. I made my son a hybrid card recently -- I will Photobucket it since it's not made using anything by Miss Mint. But it was based on a PageMaps sketch.

The papers and the candles were part of a kit. I also made the title box, then matted on cardstock. I also inked my papers once I printed them out.

I've also been making bookmarks too -- that is super easy to make and print off quickly.

I would like to do stuff for the kids! I have three preschoolers so I would like to make learning items for them. I have also been wodering what exactly is hybrid. Like I know it mixes paper and digi. But like I made a planner and glued the pages into a board book yet I did not add anything else. Was that a hybrid?

I sure think so!! If you had to pull out the glue... that makes it hybrid. lol However, slipping printed layouts into a post bound album is not hybrid.... lol

I'd like to try more hybrid things, but seems some hybrid things require weird items that I don't have (like a personal binder -- I know, I know I could use rings, but...).

I think easy-to-follow with few tools needed is what I'd like for now, since I've really only done cards.

Though I DEFINITELY want to do one of those "family" signs (you know, the "established" with the family name). I need to find a pretty stand and then a board that will fit.

Thank you for all the input!! And yes that is defintely hybrid. In fact all those paper scrappers that print their journaling from the computer are doing hybrid too!!! (Sometimes they just don't want to admit it lol).

Would you use links to buy stuff? Like if I used Shrink Plastic, if I gave you a link to a store would that help?

And you do BEAUTIFUL cards! :) I agree on the tools thing... I don't own a binder adn I don't really want to spend the money on one either! I did end up buying a Crop-a-Dile though because almost every hybrid tut I could find needed one... lol But I'm sooo glad i bought it because it's been far more handy than I imagined. I used one of my 40% off Michael's coupons on it. ;)

Everyone always says to use the Xyron Cheetah too... and I don't have that either... so I usually just use other adhesives that end up working just fine!

haha yeah! So my mom called and asked if we had gotten it yet because she never received the order confirmation email. So she called them up again (luckily the promotion was still going on) and they had no record of her order (like could happen if they got her email address wrong or something, they just won't put the order through and think it's not for real). So she reordered it, got the confirmation, and we should be getting it in October (probably the first week or two...you know, "expect it in 4-6 weeks" kind of deal). So if the order had gone through the first time, we would have it within the next week or so.

Links would be nice. And I also would like a list of items to have on hand. I dont even know where to start when it comes to buying hybrid tools. So I think a list of the minimal items to have on hand, like the basic items, would be nice. And if it is listed from must Must Haves to like Nice to have would be nice.

Ah, the Crop o dile! Once I get settled into my new apartment, I'll probably go ahead and get one since it always tends to crop up when I look at hybrid tutorials/projects. And I will definitely use that Michael's coupon! ^_^
