ABSOLUTELY! Or else what good would they be? lol I love printing my albums so I can flip through them and so everyone doesn't ahve to crowd around the laptop when they come over! lol
I love bound books... they are the cheapest way to get an album done adn they take up so little space... they look really nice on ym bookshelf too! I'm still on the hunt for the BEST book printer though.... haven't been very happy with Shutterfly.

Oh Megan, i'm so sorry you still haven't found your best book printer yet... Nobody but you sure have tested a lot of printers though ! Too bad ! :(

I love bound books too! I love being able to fit them in small places, unlike huge bulky albums, and they do cost less! However, I print by year for the most part, so I don't get to print as often as I'd like!

ALL of the above!!!
I can't stand to wait and see how my layouts look printed, so I order individual points as I go. Then at the end of the year I get a Shutterfly book so the whole year is together and in chronological order. Every now and then, I'll print a some layouts at home but my printer isn't the greatest. All of my layouts are stored on my DropShots account and, of course, on my computer.

Did you turn OFF the "vivid pics" option on each of your layouts? The first time I printed a Shutterfly book I was so, so dissapointed. All of the colors were way off. After some research, I realized that they automically apply a "vivid pics" enhancement to all photos you upload unless you opt to turn it off. You just have to go to the "Edit" function for each photo and uncheck the "vivid pics" box.
They were really nice about it and reprinted my corrected book for free. It turned out GREAT!

I print my pages at scrapbookpictures.com -- I am also a paper scrapper, so I just slip them into my album along side my paper pages.

Of course! I was really careful to amke sure I turned off vivid pics... the problem I had was with my pics printing VERY grainy... even though the same ones printed FABULOUS at Costco... wedding photos take with a DSLR camera... like this:

I really want to print them but I haven't yet. Just didn't complete a book yet. My DD is now almost 4 years old and I still have to do her babybook. But it's almost there. Then all I have to do is find a good printservice. Heard great thing about Shutterfly, a shame to read here that it isn't as good as I thought.

It seems to be a recurrent problem with book printers apparently... If you order a book, make sure you took care of that !

Well, I actually took pics of the entire page, but just cropped the problem area... that wasn't their cropping... but you do need to make sure you adjust your margins for bleed when making a book.
Just wanted to let you know that I have printed books with Shutterfly, MyPicTales, and Artscow. MyPicTales is better priced than Shutterfly and actually I liked my books better than my SF book... the paper is not glossy, but has a little shine to it without showing fingerprints... I thought the SF books have rather dull paper. Had grainy photos with all the books though... I'm thinking it's because of their printing process b/c it certainly isn't my files since I've printed them elsewhere with no problems. I just ordered a Viovio book (by far the best priced) and have heard good things about them. I'll post a review when I get it! :)

Well, Megan, i wish you good luck with Viovio ! I hope you'll be satisfied with this printer !

Well, I am blessed that my husbands work was getting rid of a HP 1220c desk jet. So I get to print at home. I just got done printing over 100 pages. NOw I have to take them to work and trim them. Not looking forward to that, but will not complain!! ;)

I'll print some at home on my printer, when the kids want one to hang in their rooms.
But I prefer to get them printed into bound books. I've ordered one from Shutterfly and one from Artscow.com.
Shutterfly was more expensive, but arrived in less time. $29.99 plus tax and shipping for a 20 page 8X8 book.
Artscow.com was WAY cheaper, but took almost 2 weeks to arrive. It was $9.99 shipped, but I have over 50 free book credits there, so my price will be $7.99 shipped from now on. You can't really beat that. Plus it's for a 30 page 8X8 book, too.
The quality was very, very close. I screwed up the margins on my Artscow one, but that was completely my own fault - I was rushing to get it done. I will definitely be ordering from Artscow again, and if you'd like to try them, send me a PM and I can transfer some of my free book credits to some of you - I'll never use them all anyway.

glad to hear that AC isn't bad. I haven't had anything printed yet but thats who I'll try first because of the free credits.
Megan I've never had a single picture print good from SF. I've tried 3 diff times and everytime they were stinky. So no more SF for me!:gah:

I get mine printed in albums and since I'm in Australia I use an Aussie company called myreflections.com.au and I've had about 10 albums done now and all are fantastic quality. They are cheaper for me than shutterfly. I upload using their free program and have my album within 3 working days.
Megan, you should price them up and see how the price comparision goes with the better $US rate.

So Megan, you already know I can't wait to see what you think of the viovio book... but I do have to tell you I have decided to do a smaller book (as in, less pages) for my parents for Christmas--just print layouts I already have done... and I'm going to request pro-bound since they use the different printer. If it really is the difference, you will HAVE to try it and I KNOW you will love it. But I have to see first... and then I'll let you know. I probably won't order it for a few more weeks just because I'm lazy. :)

I have all of mine printed as well at Costco......it's so nice to actually flip through a book. I do 8x8s and then use post bound/strap bound albums, page protectors are too expensive though!
There is no way I could do bound books because I never scrap in order!

YES!! Please do let me know how the books differ from each of their printers!! :)

Oh I'm a baaaad girl. :shake:
I have like 150 layout to print still. I never do anything chronologically or in theme so I don't want a book, but I really do have to do something eventurally. Don't I?

I never seem to print anything for myself. I'm always doing something for someone else. I have printed a few 12x12 layouts and I loooooooooooove them. But also, now that I have a laptop that I bring absolutely everywhere I go, it's like having a scrapbook with me all the time so I'll likely print even less than ever! :)

Claire, i think you should order your prints and put them in a classic album. You can sort them chronologically or in theme. Plus, it's very easy if you use repositionable photocorners ! ;)
I think it's the best option for scrappers who don't make their layout chronologically or in theme.

I print 8 x 8's on a Canon Pixima printer. I got this great tabletop album, that's actually a box that opens up. I'm printing my son's month to month album via shutterfly this month.

Since I got my new printer (Canon i4500 Pixma) I print my layouts on the size 8x8 on A4 paper (Canon Paper Pro). I'm very happy with the results of that! I store them in an album with plastic covers.
I ordered a little album (6x6 + 2 free 3x3 albums) a year ago at a farmacy (called Kruidvat for the Dutch people here) in the Netherlands, it was very cheap but the quality was terrible. So I won't do that again.
I now only print my most beautiful pages, the other layouts are saved on my computer and external harddisk.

I use Heritage Makers for all my album printing. They are a bit more expensive than Shutterfly but they use the best printer in the USA to print their pages, the color match is identical (as best I can tell) and the album is double stitched instead of glued. I have a shutterfly and Kodak book and indeed the pages are falling out as the glue is getting old. It is not worth the money to me. Heritage Makes allows you to upload your finished layout (saved as a jpg) or you can design it using their digital art images and studio online porgram. You can also upload your purchased digital kits from the great Mint Lady and use them in their studio version of photoshop. Shipping takes about 5 days and they have so many printing options. You can check it out at www.TakeTimeToRemember.com (http://www.TakeTimeToRemember.com) if you are interested in learning more or email me and I'm happy to set up an online demo to show you how I use it. LOVE IT!!!! ::yipee::

I do all of it - print 8x8's at home, print 8x8's at scrapbookpictures & adoramapix, and I have done shutterfly books, although I wasn't happy with my last one, so now I'm trying artscow.

I print my layouts although I have a whole stack that need to be put in albums right now. :shake: I send mine to either scrapbookpictures.com or sbtoshare.com. My printer is sorta dated and the ink is too expensive to print all my stuff at home.
I just ordered my very first photobook and am excited to see how it looks.

I don't print my own (what a LAZY arse I am eh?!), but I do the 8x8 books from SF and have some single pages I had printed from I think either mypictales or scrapbookpictures, LOVED them and they were 12 x 12. Sucks finding frames for that size though...and when you do, OMG, expensive..wallet screams from my purse, I tell ya!

I have never printed any of mine, I don't really have too many anyway. Do all these different sites print 12x12 as well?
