still play with paper/hybrids?
I love my digi, but I can not let go of my paper. I love to incorporate digi into my paper *or paper in my digi.... Wondering how many people still play with paper?

That's a great start!! Keep an eye on Miss Mint's blog. We will be adding tutorials there and maybe you can find some ideas to get you going.

I've done a few hybrid projects, but since I don't have a very good home printer, I have limited myself to what can be printed on a 4x6 sheet at my local 1-hr photo!

I do still have my paper stash because I started a heritage album that way and truly do intend to finish it someday!

Josie, you'll be happy to know that I started cleaning off my scrap table this past weekend. It has been over 3 years (hanging my head in shame) since I've used it to paper scrap! So....................I will be trying some hybrid soon. I have so much paper stuff left over! I'm not sure how well my printer will do though. So, here's a question for you super hybrids!

What kind of printers do you have/use?

I loooove hybrid! I don't actually use my old paper scraps... just the embellies like flowers and brads and stuff...

I play with paper until I am caught up then I will go totally digi. The thought of hybrid scares me. I would forget to put the flower on my page when I was creating it on the computer. Then my page would look funny. ;)

I use an HP All in One where the ink colors are in separate little packs. But really I think the paper is more important than the printer. I with I had a 12x12 but I have to make do :bounce:.

I use an HP all in one too, it's an older printer... but it does well, and I have to agree with claire that the media is important! using matte photo paper is so much better than plain cardstock!

Also I don't think you have to be "crafty" to do hybrids. it's not that much different from doing digi layouts... doing part digi and part paper/tactile embellishments.

You can do it!:cheer:

I could NEVER give up my paper! I am way too hands on to get rid of it! Plus I have thousands of dollars worth of stuff! It's my escape. But I am just starting to dabble in the digi world. I've done a few hybrid things and that was pretty fun. So I think that I'm gonna have all kinds of fun buyin more goodies here!

Hi,

I am new here @ the forum. I have never scrapped hybrid and just started digital this march (i was home waiting for my second child to be born). I knew about hybrid scrapping (a friend of mine has a really nice shop, but i still have to go for my first workshop) but was afraid of the mess and the money  it would cost. And now with digital, i see so many nice hybrid projects... Notebooks, monograms and stuff... That i think i will go hybrid too. I have already seen a Crop a Dile i want...

I do have a question. How do you get your printed papers to be so vivid? Mine dont look like that! :hissy: I have an older epson printer with 4 separate cartridges. I print on cardstock or matte photopaper.

With love from the Netherlands!
Mariska

I got a free sample of a card-making kit in the mail. I tried it. I liked it. But it was pre-cut, pre-planned. Not sure I could go into more than that. I just don't have the tools for it, and it's one of the main reasons I like digital - one tool (software) and you're all set!

I started with hybrid scrapping in 2003 and I still do it, but not as often as digital scrapping. But since I have my Cricut Expression it's in the lift again.
But the possibilities of digital scrapbooking are endless.

Nope. Sometimes I really want to. I thought I'd keep my stuff for cards and things, but I don't even use it for that. I knew right away I'd never make a paper page again. So... a few months after I started, I sold most of my stuff and have never regretted it! I still have ribbons and enough things for hybrid, it just doesn't interest me enough I guess. I do have a few chipboard albums I need to use though!

I have always been a hybrid scrapper..just didn't know that's what I was. I used to do stuff on my computer to put on my paper pages back before I discovered digi.

And Yes, in fact I am working on one of those exploding boxes for a gift right now. But I made the papers from digi, not my old stash.

I have so much stuff and a travel album half done in paper...not sure I can bring myself to drag it all out though. :gah:

While I have a lot of traditional paper supplies, I never used them much. When digi came along, I didn't think I would ever use them again, but then I was introduced to hybrid and think it's a good way to use supplies though I haven't really used my supplies in that way yet. Or, a few.

I do want to try more things in the future, though I'm hoping we'll have some good tutorials as I'm not usually that creative with coming up with things on my own.

I still have oh SO much paper stuff, but digi is SO much easier & less messy. *looks at desk* Well, in theory it's less messy. lol I have 8x8 books I'm doing for my boys school pics that are paper scrapped, I just finished a wedding album for my parents. I tell ya, working on that wedding album REALLY made me appreciate my digi!

I love my paper -- started out as a paper scrapper. I also love my digi and now I can incorporate the both them. I've only made one hybrid LO, but I tend to make cards a lot and lately I've been making bookmarks.

I am still mainly a paper scrapper. When I digi, it is mainly just with Miss Mint's stuff, because I am so crazy about her stuff! I love the texture and being hands-on. I spend so much time on a computer as it is and I always get a terrible crick in my shoulder, so I don't digi scrap too much. I used to digi scrap more at school when I did not have my supplies with me. Mainly, when I get ideas in my head, some of them translate better to paper, while others translate better to digi, so I just go with which one works best.

I don't do much hybrid, because I'm a lazy scrapper. Hyrbid's a lot of work, making sure measurements are correct and all that, uh-uh, too much trouble.

If it weren't for Miss Mint, I probably would not digi scrap at all.

Mariska, the quality of paper you use makes a huge difference. I use either Matte Photo Paper or glossy photo paper...

Goodness I can just drool over this even though i only digi. I am tempted by IRL scrap stuff. the store up the street closed down and I could not resist picking up a bunch of paper, alphas, stamps and pens. Its just all sitting on top of the fridge.
