OMGosh you guys I TOTALLY spazzed and forgot today was Friday!! gah!! :noway: my days are all off since Christmas. *sigh* sooooo sorry! I'll give ya an extra day to get entries in!! :)
Buildings can have a life of their own, a beauty and a presence that makes us stop and take notice. The Egyptians pyramids have stood for hundreds, even thousands of years. People flock from all over the world to visit these wonders of architecture. Or what about St. Peter's Basilica in Rome with it's beautiful fresco paintings and recognizable shape it stands as a symbol and a foundation of faith for millions around the world.
Architecture is art. Ask any architect and they'll tell you that designing is as much form and function as it is beauty & grandeur. And photographing architecture is just another form of art.
This week I'd like everyone to photograph a wonderful work of architecture. It can be a building you pass every day or a dilapidated building condemned to be demolished . Or a beautiful old church, or a famous landmark in your town. I realize not everyone has the pyramids in their backyard or famous Catholic churches down the street, but everywhere has it's own piece of beauty. Find it and photograph it!
Photographing architecture has all the same rules of photography (http://www.peppermintcreative.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1550) we've covered before.
You can find a comprehensive list of tips for photographing architecture HERE (http://photo.net/learn/architectural/exterior). Architecture isn't limited to just the outside of buildings. The interiors of buildings can be just as beautiful. Another comprehensive list of tips for interior architecture can be found HERE (http://photo.net/learn/architectural/interior).
If you have any questions please feel free to post them or email me. I'm here to help.*
