shades of bliss

So my daughter said: You know what I love about these ornaments? They are so easy to make.
So I'm thinking what a perfect challenge for the Mixed Bag Challenge. So this week I challenge you to make an ornament. OR help your child make an ornament.
Now there are lots and lots of designs you can use. Feel free to make your own. But my daughter and I did whip up some examples of some easy designs that, yup, even a child can do.
Ornament 1
Print out paper, die cut or punch at least 4, but you can do even more, same cut circles. You don't have to go giant, but don't go to small either. I used a 2" punch.
Fold each circle in half right side to right side. Then glue each of the folded circles together, layering one on top of the other. Take a ribbon or string and cue on the straight
edge of the project. Unfold the circles and glue the last two unglued sides together. Decorate with ink, buttons, sequiins, stickles (that's what I used) or glitter. Have mad fun.
Note: This would be great with all kinds of symetrical shapes, like a christmas tree if you have the punch or want to cut a bunch out.

Ornament 2
Print out paper, then flip the paper and print a different paper on side two. Cut off any white edge and then cut even sized strips. I cut my strips into 1/2 inch segments from an
10 3/4" long paper. I also cut my strips in half, but the longer the strip the bigger the ornament, so do what you like. Lay each strip on top of the other. I alternated the
paper, for example, red side on red side, and blue on blue side. At this point you can ink the sides easily. Punch a small hole in the top of the strips and thread a ribbon folded in half
through the hole so you have a loop in the top, then tie a knot close to the strips. Punch hole in the bottom of the strips and thread the two ends of the ribbon through. Slide the
bottom of the strips up the ribbon so they bow out and then tie a know close to the bottom of the strips. Fan the strips out.
Note: I just used my cutter, but for a decorative touch, you could cut the strips with fun edged sissors.

Ornament 3
Print out paper. Punch lots of flowers from it. Take a straight pin, add a bead, push throught the flower into a styrofoam ball. Cover ball. You can vary the paper or beads to your liking.
Take a ribbon and fold over making a loop. Pin the ends of the ribbon to the ball.
Note: This was my daughter's favorite and one she could do all by herself but did take the longest.
