Still life photography is nothing more than a depiction of inanimate objects grouped together. Many of our challenges have already utilized this, taking a photo of something that is just sitting there. One must remember that lighting is key and composition is important. To make a still life photo visually interesting, a photographer must see something ordinary in a new way. Find the art in the everyday.

A still life photo can be of anything. A vase full of flowers, a box of crayons, a bowl of fruit, a candle. Get creative, and think outside the box.

You have from*Friday Oct 16th*to*Thursday Oct 22th*to shoot your photos for this theme. Please submit only photos taken during that time frame. Below are some examples to get the creative juices flowing. Good luck and I look forward to seeing everyones photos!

- Post-processing and use of actions ARE ALLOWED.
- Photos must be taken by you during the challenge week.
- Photos must be posted in the *new* PHOTOGRAPHY gallery & in this thread.

ooh i know at least one thing i am going to do with this one!

i know i swore i was going to get pics in for last weeks....i just didnt get them off the camera! the hubs has destroyed my house...i kid you not my fridge is in the livingroom at the moment...i hate remodeling!

i love your examples sarah...specially the ring in the bible. i tried it with my promise ring on my fave verse...it just wouldnt work!

my apologies ladies...i TOTALLY forgot to pick CAP #17's winner yesterday. i've been a bit scatterbrained lately it seems. :)

the bold colors really caught the eye and i love the bathtub full of bubbles in the background! :)

graphicsgirl - your photo of your new props are fantastic. great colors. can't wait to see the portraits you use them in! :)

KirstieGai - the photos you take of food are mouthwatering...literally. i always get hungry looking at your food photos!

OriginalCher1 - your photos this week were a contradiction in terms. one of a rusty old truck with lots of texture, and one with glass and liquid which is smooth. i loved that contradiction! :)

Birgit - your photo of your lamp was fantastic. i loved the texture of the wall behind it, plus the horizon lines of color on the lamp, plus the way the light shown from the lamp...very cool picture!

i would agree with you GuitarCrazy0! :) i think inanimate objects are anything that you arrange and put on display to photograph. even if it was once in "nature".
