Click-a-Pic Challenge #13 "The Face in the Mirror"

The art of the self portrait. As the photographer 99.99% of the time, I'm rarely in any photos. I'm sure it's the same for all of you. So if I'm to have any photos of myself, I have to take them myself.

A self portrait isn't as hard or as scary as it can sound. There are many ways to do this. 1)use a tripod & shutter release cable/remote. 2)recruit a child/friend/husband to help you. 3)use a mirror or any shiny surface to capture your reflection.

This week's challenge is to shoot a self portrait. Try and utilize the tips/rules from the portrait challenge (http://www.peppermintcreative.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1590) and Rules of Composition (http://www.peppermintcreative.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1550) challenge. Use the eye pop technique too. Just because it's a portrait of you doesn't mean it can't look spectacular! It can be fun & creative or it can be serious & beautiful. Go crazy, go wild...this is all about you!

You have from*Friday Sept 18th*to*Thursday Sept 24th*to shoot your photos for this theme. Please submit only photos taken during that time frame. Below are some examples to get the creative juices flowing. Good luck and I look forward to seeing everyones photos!

and this is to show that sometimes they don't always work out but they can still have an interesting quality to them. i call this my Monet! ;)

REMEMBER:
- You may post up to 2 photos per challenge.
- Post-processing and use of actions ARE ALLOWED.
- Photos must be taken by you during the challenge week.
- Photos must be posted in the *new* PHOTOGRAPHY gallery & in this thread.
- PLEASE SIZE PICS to no larger than 600px WIDE and/or TALL.*

HA! well i'm pretty self conscious about this kind of thing. i always feel like i look ridiculous in every photo that i'm in. i kept asking myself if there was any way to do a "self portrait" challenge without actually using portraits of myself. LOL! no dice! :teehee:

so i stepped out of my comfort zone for this one as well. :)

I had to wait some days before I could take a photo. You still see it a little, but both my eyes were thik (I don't know how you call it). I feel a bit sick and you could see that in my face right away.
But now it goes better. Today I laid down on our bedroom floor in front of our mirror. Look what our neighbours cat did! So 2 photos this time.

I love your pictures, ladies - esp. the one with the kitty on top of the head. Somewhere I have one of my husband on the floor, fixing the plumbing under the sink, with our dog laying down on top of his back, sleeping (the dog that is).

OK, so this is me; it's a picture of my bathroom mirror reflection, very much who I am, as I spend a lot of time behind the camera lens (whenever I'm not actually in front of the computer screen:heartu:)
I dont leave a lot of messages, but I do shop here and LOVE the gallery, as I am a hybrid card-makers.

Bought a remote last year and the batteries were dead so I FINALLY got batteries and tried it out. LOVE IT! So much fun to do a photoshoot by yourself!
